Description

Life came full-circle over and over for Lynn after seventeen military moves with her husband’s USAF career. She raised her young family on opposite coasts. While living on the East Coast, her family visited the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse on one particular day. With that memory frozen in her mind through the years, she and her family returned home to Kansas where after the death of her middle daughter, who died as the result of injuries from a car wreck just before her wedding day, Lynn formed the non-profit ECCRC and built Lighthouse Library in her hometown, Dexter. The library includes a twenty-five-foot replica of the Hatteras Lighthouse and has an ocean theme. Lynn survived post-partum depression, a neck injury after her car was totaled by a semi, addiction to Oxycodone prescribed for pain, long absences by her military husband, the grief from the death of her dad and daughter, and the loss of her Education career. Both raised on farms among the Kansas wheat and hayfields, Lynn and her husband, Randy, bought their own farm when they returned. There, they look forward to a future wedding anniversary Luau by a pool that does not yet exist. Life remains melancholy for Lynn, but she always says, “You gotta have a dream!” She enjoys each sunrise and sunset and the Lord’s comforting presence. Her mother inspired her to believe that dreams really do come true. There is no place like home, Lynn’s safe harbor! Lynn is the author of Whippoorwill: A Journey Through Loss.
